As Database Engineer at Beatport, you will apply your knowledge and expertise in software engineering and database applications development to address business and technology needs. Reporting to the VP of Data Services, you will be a member of an agile scrum team, which is responsible for bringing our product vision to life. You will also work closely with Data Services team to coordinate data related initiatives.
This role is located in Denver, Colorado and requires eligibility to work in the United States without need for visa sponsorship. Applicants who are outside the Denver Metro area and ready to relocate are welcome to apply, but local candidates are preferred
Contribute code to develop API and applications
Ensure correctness and acceptable performance of Django data model
Lead agile team’s efforts with developing solutions for data related problems
Communicate agile team’s data needs to Data Services team
You will have
3+ years’ experience working as a software developer/engineer
Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language
Solid understanding of RDBMS concepts, including table indexes
Data modeling experience
Demonstrable proficiency with Python with dedication to writing clean understandable and testable code
Knowledge of at least one Python web framework such as Django or Flask
Experience building scalable public APIs and a deep understanding of REST
Experience in building distributed systems
Strong background using Test Driven Development practices
Ability to resolve complex software issues
Ability to effectively document and present technical concepts
Desired Knowledge and Experience:
Experience with Agile methodologies
Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with source control tools (GitHub/Git)
Experience with Apache Solr or ElasticSearch
